As a Speaking Events Judge—you need to do two things:
1. Fill out the online form for each and every round you

2. Reply to this Email with the rankings and ratings for this round ASAP after the last speaker goes. Please keep the order of the speakers below, the same as listed.

Notice: Do not no show speakers until 10 minutes before
the end of the round.
Round 1 ends at 1250pm. Round 2 ends at 3:30pm.

All bc academy students are
expected to do 5 minute speeches.
Elementary Speeches are 5 minutes long.
Middle School Speeches are 7 minutes long.
High School Speeches are 10 minutes long.
Exception 1: Impromptu speeches are 6 minutes for prep
and speech.
Exception 2: High School Extemp
speeches are 7 minutes long.
Explanations
Ranking is 1 (best speaker), 2 (second best speaker), 3 (third best speaker); 4 (rest of the speakers—tied for 4).
Rating is
61 offensive, inappropriate, not prepared at all
62-69 needs dramatic improvement
70-79 needs modest improvement
80-89 needs small improvement
90-99 unusually good, outstanding speech needing almost no changes
Participants do not need to stay in the round but should
be welcomed to do so. Note: Many students are double-entered so need to go to
their other speaking round.
What if the round is supposed to be over and I’m still
missing a speaker’s presentation? Contact the Greeter but we need to start the
next round of debate so keep moving forward.
