Qualify to Participate in Tournaments

 

ONLINE TOURNAMENTS

If you want to compete at tournaments online: There is some flexibility but you should attend the introduction to debate classes, complete topic research, and participate in a minimum of 70% of team meetings Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

VAN TOURNAMENTS

If you want to compete at van travel tournaments in the Northwest region: Participate in a minimum of 80% of team meetings, complete topic research, compete in nearly all online tournaments and help with tournaments we host.

 

PLANE TOURNAMENTS

If you want to compete at plane travel tournaments:

--Have a  RealID (required by TSA at the airport).

--Compete at nearly all online and van travel tournaments.

--Complete significant topic research.

--Demonstrate long term commitment to the team.

--Participate in a minimum of 90% of meetings.

--Provide significant help with tournaments we host.

--Because of our limited budget, be among the top scoring debaters on the team.

(we are able to plane travel 4 to 8 students to two tournaments in the winter/spring; actual number of teams we can take depends on our fund raising via tournament hosting and how committed, improving, and successful you and our teams are).
