Students from any majors are welcome in the program.

With many opportunities for collaborative work in teams, along with supportive coaching, our program helps you to build your debating skills.

Participating on the Seattle University Debate Union helps for any vocation but especially for lawyers, educators, business people,
those with public policy and political aspirations, scientists,
and anyone who needs to communicate effectively.

What we do . . .

The Team does BP-Worlds Debate (YODL style)
and a small amount of Speaking Events.

We meet twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evenings)
for practice and preparation.

We attend tournaments in the Northwest, Online, and Nationally
(over the past two years, we’ve gone to Colorado, Hawaii, Tennessee, and California).

We also host tournaments for the elementary, middle school,
high school, and college levels.

Most importantly, we have fun and we win!
