DOING ATTENDANCE
Climb Program!

1. Look at your ballot or the lab/postings to see which students are supposed to be in the room with you (note, in some cases, elem and ms kids will go to another room to prep—check the breakout room list especially your room number plus 20).

2. One minute after class start time, In Slack, post “Missing” and “First and Last names” of missing kids into the “02-missing-kids-staff-use-this” channel.

The greeter should text the parents.

3. You should still start class after you post missing kids (do a very brief catchup for kids that arrive late—repeating stuff a bit never hurts even for kids that already heard it).

If you are missing most of your kids/hard to start a debate . . . obviously wait but remember that you can debate a team; just do the best you can to get a debate going.

What to do if a team only has 1 kid on it?
That kid unfortunately debates on their own. If they just can’t do that, a kid from the other team can debate with them BUT the 1 kid team loses the debate.

It is an LD debate and a debater is absent.
Work with the other LD instructors/head LD instructor and rearrange the debate with another debater.

4. 10 minutes after class start time and a kid is still missing? Post “Still Missing” and “First and Last names” of these 10+ minute missing kids into the “02-missing-kids-staff-use-this” channel. (note: if the greeter or Jim has already provided an explanation for the student’s absence, you don’t need to do this)
