THIRD GET DEBATE GOING AND FINISHED

ALWAYS Beginners and sometimes Returners MUST show you their
TOPIC SCRIPTS and Flowsheets

Begin Prep Time Get students preparing, 20 minutes of prep before debate starts (30 minutes of prep if it is an impromptu topic). Be sure to check each prep room at least 3 times to assure a safe and supportive environment and to answer questions.

Begin debate on time, flow and watch the debate as you think “what is this debater doing well and what could they improve on” and “which arguments are winning based on what reasons provided by the debaters and which arguments are shown to be most important by the debaters.”

MS 3 on 3 Debate Speaking Order, Times and Rules.pdf

FOURTH AFTER THE DEBATE, DO THESE 4 THINGS IN ORDER:

1. Email Reply Winner-Points immediately at end of debate.
Doublecheck you have the right names of the students.
Submitting the online form IS NOT emailing the winner/point.
You have to EMAIL reply to the email ballot with the winner and points.
Emailing winner-points = things run on time. Just one late emailed winner points really hurts.

2. After you EMAIL the winner points, Verbally tell the debaters your Reason for Decision and Complements and Improves to each Student.

3. Students redo 1-2 minutes of their speech to improve (note this takes 12+ minutes to do).

4. Click Here to Type in Comments—Required by 7pm

Last debate of the session?

After the debate feedback, tell the kids to go to Zoom 2 for Recognitions and Awards and

You Type In Recognitions for Each Kid you judged in the last debate (debate 6)

Then, Present your Recognitions for each and every kid in your last debate in Zoom 1.
