IN CLASS

1. Your instructor will go over logistics—where to go, what to do when you are at the tournament.

2. Get into your teams, identify who is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th speaker, identify who gives 2 speeches if you have 3 speakers.

3. Show your Pro and Con Contentions on each topic. IT IS BEST THAT each team member have different contention arguments. Work with your instructor to achieve this.

4. Practice responding to contentions and setup a shared set of responses. Your instructor will give tips and helpful feedback for responding effectively.

5. Practice defending your contention. Instructor will ask you what your contention is, make 2 responses against it.

6. Practice weighing. You’ve heard the contentions people are presenting. Show why your/your team’s contentions are stronger and more important than your opponents.

7. Practice doing Question and Answer.
