That is what you should do! Talk for a short time and then get the kids engaged doing it. Why? 1) Doing is learning—you can explain the details on and on and the students can’t actually do what you are discussing—that is not successful; 2) more than 5 and 7 minutes USUALLY is longer than the students’ attention spans and they begin to tune out; 3) The Climb way is to get students doing and then giving them specific feedback based on what they did.
