DO THESE STEPS AS A JUDGE
1. ROUND START ATTENDANCE CHECK
Judges should have their webcam on.
Your emailed ballot tells you the name of each debater
in your round.
Missing students? Contact The Greeter/Camp Assistant
and/or Jim Hanson.
FIRST ROUND—GIVE SOME GRACE—but things need to get going.
AFTER THE FIRST ROUND—5 MINUTES GRACE MAX. Prep Time begins then unless Jim Hanson tells you differently (and you can and should ask).
Tech Issues
Microphone, Sound, Webcam Issues?
TRY ONE OF THESE:
--Is student wearing headphones? If they can use the computer sound/mic, usually
fixes the problem.
--Any student: In the lower left
of the Zoom screen—change the settings so it matches the headphones, mic,
webcam they are using.
--Reboot the computer. Reminder
students aren’t required to have webcam on.
Bad Internet?
--Tell the student to move closer
to the wifi router
--If parent is there, reboot the
router
--Switch to just audio—no webcam.
Weird/other problems? Reboot the computer.
Make sure you see it.
They are using electronic so can’t show it? Make them
answer _specific_ question about it. “What is typed at the top of the 2nd
Column on the Con Flowsheet?” “What is the argument on page 3 of the
Case-Response file?”
