• Each
side has 4 minutes of preparation to use when they wish except in the middle of
questioning or speeches.

High School Debaters can be aged 13 to 18;
exceptions to this require Jim Hanson’s approval.

Follow NSDA rules.
•
You may NOT fabricate (make up) quoted material.
•
You may NOT misuse quoted material including: 1) removing words like
“no” and “not” from quotations; 2) adding words to quotations; 3) claiming you
read parts of a quotation that you did not.
•
Fabrication and Misuse of quoted material disqualifies you from the
tournament and likely future tournaments.
•
You may not get debating help during the debate from coaches, parents,
other debaters, anyone.
•
You may use a computer for notes, reading materials, etc.
•
You may use and should read materials you prepared prior to the
debate.
